Race fans were treated to some fabulous weather (with the odd shower) and lots of close leading action from Shane Norval, Phillip Atkinson and rising star Archie Ormrod over the weekend.
Race 1: was all about a South African shoot out between Norval on his 125cc moto4/Evo and Atkinson on his Derbi 50cc. in a thrilling race between them which saw Norval come out on top by 0.8 tenths of a second from Atkinson wit Ormrod on his KTM 85cc supermoto machine not far behind in 3rd.
Race 2: saw a completely different battle between Atkinson and Ormrod as Norval dropped behind watching the action ahead from 3rd place. Atkinson finished 1st ahead of Ormrod in 2nd who was just over 4 tenths of a second behind.
In race 3. Positions swopped (quite a lot) between Atkinson and Ormrod who eventually made 1st place at just over 6 tenths of a second in front of Atkinson.
Fans were also treated to some great action further down the field in this fiercely contested championships.
After round one: Phillip Atkinson leads the overall Ultra lightweight championship by 4 points in front of Archie Ormrod and Morgan Fulop in 3rd Plus Phillip also leads the 50cc class
Morgan Fulop leads the Streetstock class 6 points ahead of Paul Livesey
Darren Anderson leads the Moto4/Evo class
Archie Ormrod leads the 80-85 class
Wag Scott returned from a serious injury last year to lead the Ladies class
