Trials superfans Rob Warner and Martyn Ashton will be together for one night only, but it will be a very special night as this presenting duo take centre stage at the third and final edition of the DL12 Indoor Trial on Saturday 18th January at the Utilita Arena Sheffield. Whilst Rob and Martyn have both previously graced the floor inside the famous Yorkshire venue it will be the first time they have led ceremonies at this event together.
Rob struggled to contain his excitement at times during his DL12 Indoor Trial debut in 2023, as he lived out his childhood dream of being up close and personal with Bou and co. A good national level Trial rider in his own right, Rob made his name in the mountain bike scene by becoming the first British rider to win a round of the UCI MTB World Cup in 1996 and taking three UK titles. In more recent years along with his Trial exploits Rob has become the voice of downhill MTB much due to his unharnessed passion and unique commentating style.
Equally Martyn was slightly overwhelmed when he made his Sheffield debut twelve months ago. The ex-professional Mountain Bike Trials rider who won the 1995 World Biketrial Championship along with four British championships and several World Records is a self-confessed Trials nerd. Martyn has also had several big YouTube hit videos with the Road Bike Party series. These days Martyn is best known for his antics on adaptive Mountain Bikes and presenting on the Global Mountain Bike Network - turning a spinal cord injury in 2013 into a positive and inspiring continuation of his riding career.
This is definitely a match made in Trials heaven!
