Get ready to immerse yourself in a weekend of vet’s motocross as VMXdN descends on the iconic GP Foxhill circuit in Wiltshire on the August bank holiday weekend (22nd - 25th). This highly anticipated event, which brings together the best riders from around the world, past and present, to battle it out on twenty-one+ year old two strokes, is like the Woodstock of two strokes, according to RacerX.
The racing highlight of the weekend is the International VMXdN Team Race, where countries go head-to-head in a clash for honours and that podium victory. The impressive team from Northern Ireland, always up amongst it, is determined to make it third time lucky and clinch that top spot after 3rd place in 2022 and 2nd place in 2023.
Gordon Crockard, who needs no introduction, is heading the squad as manager and will manage the team remotely while overseeing the HRC factory Honda squad at the MXGP series.
Neville Bradshaw is first up on the team, a name synonymous with evo racing. A staple of two-stroke racing in the UK, the event would simply not be the same without him. His fearless riding style and smart manoeuvring have earned him a special place in the hearts of motocross enthusiasts worldwide. Bradshaw is a force to be reckoned with on the track and a true favourite among the fans. Bradshaw is favouring the CR500 in the team race with the number four plates, backed by his sponsors RJP Motorcycles and FEW Welding.
Graeme Irwin will be sporting the number five on the gate onboard his CR250 with help from MET Healthcare and Scarlett DIY. Irwin is a former British champion and Grand Prix rider, so his credentials cannot be questioned. Having walked away from professional motocross to follow in his brother's footsteps and go road racing, he still yearns for the dirt, which brings him back to certain events to compete. Luckily for us, the VMXdN Foxhill is one of the lucky ones, and we're more than proud to have him line up.
Returning to the squad is Northern Ireland's Martin Barr. Having raced all around the globe in an illustrious career that has spanned three decades so far. The victories and podium finishes have continued throughout Barr's career with a win and second-place finish in the Red Bull Pro Nationals championships, a second and third place in the MX1 British Championship and 2nd in the MX1 Red Bull Pro Nationals Championship over the years. Barr has also represented Ireland 14 consecutive times at the MXON. Barr will be lining up on CR250, carrying the number six backed by the Apico Factory Racing team.
Team Northern Ireland will undoubtedly leave no stone unturned in its quest for the top podium spot.
