After the introduction of the Wright Engineering race in 2023, riders have been teaming up across the nation to compete in 2024, and this race is now a serious highlight of the race schedule as the best of the best British MX talent go head-to-head on the legendary 21-year-old + two-stroke machines.
The excitement is reaching fever pitch with just six weeks to go. Next up is a formidable team set to dominate the track. Handpicked by the esteemed Gary Senior, this team packs a punch that will leave fans on the edge of their seats (or the hillside) when the gate drops on the racing action on August Bank Holiday weekend (22nd-25th)
Leading the pack is none other than the supremely talented Carlton Husband. Currently contracted to the Phoenix Evenstrokes Kawasaki squad, Husband is on fine form and currently competes in the British, Scottish and Fastest 40 championships. His super successful 2023 season saw him clinch the top spot in the MX National Series in the Pro MX2 class. Husband eagerly throws his helmet into the ring for the Wright Engineering Team Race, bringing his experience racing a 250 two-stroke at the Red Bull Nationals. He's no stranger to the two-stroke machine's performance, Foxhill or the podium, and we can't wait to see what he brings to the table in 2024.
Joining husband on the team is his Phoenix Evenstrokes Kawasaki teammate, Charlie Cole. Cole is a rising star to watch out for, having been the former Red Bull Nationals 85cc champion. Cole was part of the Stafford Van Sales Team / Rob Hooper, who clinched 2nd overall in last year’s Wright Engineering Team Race and will be looking to hit the top spot in 2024. With all the makings of a serious contender, Cole's skills and determination make him an asset to the team.
Josh Spinks completes the team. With multiple schoolboy national championships and a regular presence on the podium at the British MX2 Championship, Spinks is always bang up for it! His race wins across the MX Nationals and Masters, and his impressive second-place finish at the FIM EX250 in 2018 solidified his status. Spink's crowning achievement was winning the Evo Plus class at the 2022 VMXdN Foxhill event, cementing his place among the Foxhill masses.
