NG Road Racing - Brands Hatch June 22/23

Back to the INDY Circuit at Brands different time as it normally is one of the first ports of call on the NG Calendar so might get some sun this time around either way it will be fast and tricky for some of or riders to remember the lack of left-hand corners!

Graham Hill bend has caught out many a rider pushing on early laps on the least used side of the tyre Everything else is turn right and will certainly lead to some very normal 50 odd second laps on the 1.2 mile “short circuit”.

The Kent Circuit has seen everything from Formula 1, Superbikes both British and World, American Indy cars, Sportscars as used at Le Mans , World motorcycle endurance races and numerous car motorcycle club events like this weekend.

The NG ROAD RACING calendar has now reached the mid-point of the season 3 down 4 to go and this will be a crucial meeting for many riders after the Pembrey meeting in May.

Only one class has a runaway leader Joe Woodward in Mini Twins undefeated over 8 rounds! Some riders are starting to benefit from consistency, good points every round could win the day and count at the end of the year.

Changes of priorities for some too, George Edwards possibly looking at more BSB Stock 1000 rounds pushing the edge of his season to bigger things may miss a few rounds after looking like a champion again for another year,

The same path as Max Symonds who could make an appearance testing on the J&C Symonds R1 Yamaha and the always present threat of Bob Collins and the Honda Fireblade to put a bit of petrol on the fire

As well as the regular NG classes there are 2 guest formula’s which will turn the clock a few years with the Lansdown Classics the sound of single and some twin cylinder machines from the 50’s and 60’s a familiar sight and sound at Brands in that some would say golden era. And our friends from Grand Prix

Originals, slightly younger but the 250 and 350 2 stroke machines back for their second visit to us this year a contrast to the booming singles with a grid of twin cylinder 2 strokes leaving a haze of smoke over the start line.

Full 2 days racing up to 20 races a day and an open paddock to explore and maybe some summer weather?
