NG Road Racing – Pembrey - 25/26 May

The next round of the NG Road Racing championship comes to the Home Welsh of motorsport, Pembrey a regular stop on the championship for a number of years now, with the promise of high-speed action on the flat(former airfield )  but technical race track.

Although some very fast sections allow this circuit to let the bikes use all the horse power they have the Hatchets hairpin at the end of the start finish straight , officially Park Straight , is one of the tightest corners of all the tracks NG visit and out brake yourself here and it will mess your run through the Spitfires , Dibeni run up to the ESSES and then the run to the deceptively tight Brooklands Hairpin and the fast run down Speedway Straight through to Woodlands and on to the fast Honda Curve.

Do that in about a minute and your flying, do it in 57.290 or quicker and that’s the lap record!

Championships are starting to unfold now George Edwards leading both Phoenix Open and R E P Powerbike classes but absent this round taking a wild card ride in BSB at Donington Park on the DCM Honda Fireblade so two NG champions in the same STOCK 1000 class that weekend, King of Combe Max Symonds with a full season last year.

IMS 600 Open is not going the way of the form book, after a pretty horrible Cadwell round Ricky Elder will be looking to re-establish the points lead but the consistent scoring of Gareth Roberts and Will Jones could prove to be riders to watch gaining useful points every race

ACU 250 National Championship is Bobby Varey will also be looking for a better series of rides after a very below par Cadwell, two non-points scoring races has left the reigning champion with a lot of work to do being some 75 points behind series leaded Jim Hind.

Joining as the guest class are the welcome return of the GP Originals the 250 and 350 2 stroke series along for one of several visits this year, along with the regular ACU 250/ 125 Championship runners Pembrey will literally be buzzing to the sound of two strokes.

The normal compliment of support classes from the mini and super twins, Pre-Injection 600 & 1300, Formula 400 and the regular Ducati Desmo’s plus Formula Pro Stock’s with the Suzuki Bandit Challenge will make this the normal packed grid meeting for the South Wales circuit.
