The British Arenacross Championship presented by Fix Auto UK races to the Resorts World Arena, Birmingham tomorrow (3 February) and limited tickets are still available!

London’s Jack Brunell (Stark Future Racing) leads the riders championship by a single point over Harri Kullas (FUS Marsh Geartec Husqvarna) with two rounds to go, following the latter’s double win in Aberdeen last weekend.

Kullas’ recent form has propelled him into the title race, whilst Brunell will be hoping to return to the top step of the podium for the first time since round 2 in Manchester at the Resorts World Arena.

In the teams championship Stark Future Racing lead on 73 points, with Mark McCann 64 YouTube Channel in second with 60 and FUS Marsh Geartec Husqvarna a point behind in third.

Birmingham will also see the return of an Arenacross legend to the championship; 2018 champion, France’s Cedric Soubeyras will line-up on a third Dirt Store Kawasaki entry alongside countrymen Thomas Do and Pierre Lozzi.

Arenacross will also welcome fellow-Frenchman Yannis Irsuti (Stark Future Racing) and Germany’s Paul Bloy (K-Tech Racing) to the championship.

Tamworth’s own Luke Burton (Team Geartec Norman Watt Racing) will be competing against them in the pro class and currently sits 10th in the Traxxas Pro Class standings. Together with Solihull’s motocross rising star Oliver Wilson (competing in a class for young riders), the pair will be hoping to make a big impact in front of their ‘home’ crowd in Birmingham.

Reigning Arenacross British Champion, Derbyshire’s Tommy Searle will unfortunately be unable to compete in Birmingham following an accident earlier in the series. In his role as series ambassador, he’ll still be present throughout the event to meet fans, work with the media and keep a watchful eye on the competition, he said: “I love Arenacross and it’s very difficult to be sitting on the sidelines not taking part, but as a fan the championship battle is hugely exciting to watch.

“Winning the title last year was a career highlight following an extremely tough battle with Conrad Mewse. It’s been exciting to see Jack Brunell up there on his rapid all-electric bike and finally getting his first victory, as well as Harri Kullas – both top riders and potentially worthy champions.

“I’d love to be out there with them battling for the title, but I’m delighted to be able to continue being part of the event and look forward to meeting as many fans as possible at the Resorts World Arena!”

The event will also welcome one of the fastest rising stars of the dirt racing scene, Olivia Reynolds. The teenager from Northampton has been riding motocross bikes since age of three, has been taken under the wing of the legendary US racer Travis Pastrana and holds the world record for the youngest female to ever land a backflip on an MX bike.

Matt Bates, Arenacross Promoter said: “I’m still catching my breath after Aberdeen, what a season it’s been so far for the British Arenacross Championship presented by Fix Auto UK in 2024.

“We can’t wait to land in Birmingham on Saturday; it’s without doubt one of our favourite places to visit and there’s no greater buzz than the sight and sound of the Resorts World Arena rocking as our riders and show wows the crowd!

“The championship battle in the Traxxas Pro Class has been epic so far and as we get closer to the ‘business-end’ of the season it’s so finely poised with one point between Jack and Harri; I can’t wait to see who comes out on top! Whatever happens we’re looking forward to crowning a new champion.

“Arenacross also has a proud history of being a proving ground for young riders and giving them a launching pad other series can’t match. I’m sure the crowd will get behind the local riders and give them some amazing support when we arrive this weekend.”
