Morgan Fulop leads the charge into Cascades followed by Max Garside, Max Taylor William Greenway and Dominic Gardner
Oulton Park was the venue on Saturday for the fourth round of the ACU Ultralightweight British Championships with races for 50’s 80’s plus 125 Streetstock bikes and the guest 125 Evo class.
The winners in each class came away with deserved double wins on a day which saw some fantastic battles dazzling sunshine at the well attended Wirral 100 club event.
Steve Lawton led everyone home in both of the races for the 80cc Class with a delightful display of riding. followed in the 80cc class by the fast and ever improving Nick Marchbank who now leads the championship by 8 points
Shane Norval on his first visit to Oulton since 2004 was next “on the road” and he followed Lawson to two solid, fast and smooth wins in the Evo class, moving to 2nd place in the guest event table.
Owen Monaghan took both 50cc trophies whilst Rhys Callister had solid finishes to add to his current championship lead.
Joel Grieg dominated the popular 125 Streetstocks with two wins and is now looking a danger to Max Taylor’s lead as he moves to within 8 points. Behind Joel In both races, Morgan Fulop, Max Garside, William Greenway, Max Taylor and Dominic Gardner battled for the remaining podium positions. Rubbing elbows, handlebars, feet, and everything else in a display of fair, purposeful and safe riding that both entertained the crowds and kept the race commentator breathless and on his toes as the multi bike battle often involved 4 sometimes 5 abreast going into most of the corners.
Wag Scott in the Ladies Guest Championship came home first in class for both of her races to complete a day of doubles for all the classes in Ultra lightweight races.
There is still a lot going on and plenty of interest in this exciting series. Next up we have a double header at Anglesey on the 29th/30th of July for round five of the Ultra lightweights.
