Round 2 of the 2023 NG Racing, Completely Motorbikes series moves to Castle Combe circuit on the weekend of the 22/23 April.
This will see the first of two visits for NG Racing to the popular West Country circuit with the headline race being the King of Combe now being held over the two visits (round 2 on 29/30 July) so a total of 6 races.
Interest has been high with the racing community as the prize fund has grown to 8k with some great support from established NG Racing sponsors, IMS and Adam Jeffery Flooring Services, £ 2000 to the winner and prize money down to 10th !
Could have been tempting to riders in the BSB paddock ??
The reigning king will be back to defend his crown in the form of Max Symonds on the J&C Symonds R1 Yamaha who has already shown his form from Brands Hatch with 4 wins and leading both the Phoneix Open and Bluebell Lakes Powerbike.
He will be pushed all the way by Bob Collins with the Team FWR Honda Fireblade with his flamboyant riding style and equally outstanding bike!
George Edwards, DCM R6 Yamaha and Ricky Elder REP R6 Yamaha will be in the mix as well both very fast and capable of getting in amongst the larger capacity machines and the back to form Chris Pope AFB Motorcycles R1 Yamaha and Michael Blank AFB R1.
Local interest in the form of Tyson Lewis on his BMW 1000 RR in 1300 Streetstock and out in the main race too, a product of the Castle Combe track days
The main race will be supported by a full programme of support races over the two days from the 600 open class to the one make Ducati Desmo and Suzuki Bandit Challenge in total
a 30-race programme over the 2 days!
The ACU 250 / 125 National championship will be present as always and boosted by more 2 strokes with the GP Original’s series again with us as a guest formula, former GP machinery when two strokes ruled the roost, probably similar to what Castle Combe was used to having on the grid a little while back!!
Dan Cooper now running Dan Cooper Motorsport and the guiding force behind George Edwards R6 Yamaha, will be watching very closely to see if his outright lap record of 2019 1.08.456 comes under threat from either Symonds or Collins? If the weather gods are kind it could be the meeting.
Race commentary and results will be availible through TSL Timing, www.tsl-timing.com.
