Applications are invited for the position of General Secretary at the Auto-Cycle Union Limited, Rugby.
The Auto-Cycle Union (ACU) is the National Governing Body for motorcycle sport in the British Isles (less Northern Ireland). Formed in 1903, the ACU represents 21,000 licence holders, 3,000 volunteer Marshals and Officials, 550 members Clubs in furthering the interests of motorcycle sport both in the UK and on a global basis.
The General Secretary is a senior member of staff and Company Secretary for ACU Limited and its subsidiary companies. The post holder will report to the Chairman of ACU Ltd and provide support to the ACU Ltd Board of Directors on all matters of corporate and sporting governance.
At the heart of the role, the General Secretary will ensure that the team at ACU House provide first class assistance to Local Centres, Clubs and Members in support of their sporting activities. Managing political and strategic relationships through partner organisations such as the FIM, FIME, MSUK and MCIA will also be essentially important to the success of the role.
The successful candidate will have substantial relevant experience working as a senior company administrator, with a demonstrable knowledge of corporate governance across a wide range of business activities. We are looking for someone who is personable, engaging and a great communicator, an interest in motorcycle sport is also desirable.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary offered for full-time appointment to this role will be in the range £38,000 to £45,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
