Michelin are the latest headline brand to add their support to the initial DL12 Indoor Trial that will take place on Saturday 7th January 2023 at the Utilita Arena Sheffield. The preferred choice of tyre for Trial World Champion Toni Bou and all the other top Trial riders without exception, Michelin remain the dominant force in this sector of the off-road market and will use the event to reinforce their position as class leader by becoming the exclusive tyre partner for the season opening competition.
As part of the agreement Michelin will provide no less than twelve of their monster sized X TRA DEFEND tyres, which stand almost two metres tall and can normally be found fitted to huge earth moving vehicles, from which an all-new section will be constructed.
A long-time user of Michelin tyres himself, including at this year’s Scottish Six Day Trial when he recorded a record extending thirteenth victory using their highly regarded rubber, Dougie Lampkin is obviously pleased to extend his relationship with the brand for his first ever indoor event: “Michelin have been one of my loyal sponsors pretty much throughout my own riding career, so to have their support for my forthcoming event is great. I have already got a plan of the new tyre section and I think that it’s going to be a proper test for the riders and a real favourite amongst the fans.”
Speaking on behalf of Michelin Tyre PLC – Andy James – Brand Manager – Two Wheel Product said: “Dougie is a rider we know very well and one we have shared much success with over an extended period. We are delighted to be able to add our support to what we believe will be a great event to get 2023 underway with and to become the official tyre partner for this prestigious competition that includes some of the best trial riders on the planet.”
