It’s back to Kramolin in the Czech Republic this coming weekend for the annual Sidecar and Quadcross of Nations tournament, and there is a real sense of excitement ahead of the event.
The FIM Sidecar Cross field includes the newly crowned 2022 Champions Etienne Bax and Ondrej Cermak. There will be a warm homecoming for the Czech passenger, celebrating his first world title.
No fewer than fifteen National sidecar teams are making the journey from the four corners of Europe stretching all the way from Estonia to France and all countries in between.
Last year’s winners The Netherlands are once again favourites, but in a team event all members must play their parts.
Team Belgium includes Marvin Vanluchene and Robbie Bax who bowed out of his GP career officially last weekend in an emotional farewell.
Estonia too looks strong with Varik/Kunnas supported by Gordejev/Stupelis and Reesna/Nitsoo.
Team Great Britain hasn’t been represented in the competition since 2019, when they finished third behind the Netherlands and Estonia. This time round, buoyed by some great form by the 2022 British Champions veteran Stuart Brown and his passenger Josh Chamberlain and seventh in the World Brett Wilkinson and Joe Millard and backed up by Dan Foden and Nathan Cooper, hopes will be high for a push for the title and a place on the podium.
