We are pleased to confirm that The Vintage Motorcycle Club IOM Section (VMCC) and Andreas Racing Association (ARA) are running a combined day of track sessions and racing at Jurby Airfield on Tuesday 30th August 2022, the day after the last scheduled day of racing at the 2022 Manx Grand Prix (MGP).
ARA plan to cater for the following classes:
· 350 Classics
· 500 Classics
· Classic Superbikes
· Modern 650 twins
· Modern 600 Supersport bikes
Machine eligibility for all classes will be aligned to the MGP regulations. Depending on entries, some of the above classes may be combined into one grid. Racing will be run under a full ACU permit, with practice in the morning and all classes having two races during the day. Entry fees are still being finalised, but it is the intention of ARA and VMCC to keep them as low to encourage as many riders as possible to join us. In addition, riders from outside the Isle of Man will be granted free ARA membership for event. ARA will be very happy to accept entries from local riders, MGP competitors and any other rider with a race licence and machine(s) who can join us for what we plan to be a full day of fun and action at Jurby. For further details, please email chairman@andreasracing.im
Along side the racing, the VMCC, IoM Section, Test Day for VMCC members will provide a well proven three class structure which will encourage the inclusion of the less experienced on-track riders and those on slower machines by providing a non-threatening environment whilst not alienating those who wish to go faster on period racing or later model machines. All bikes must be greater than 25 years old. Riders will be required to wear one-piece or zip-together leathers and an ACU Gold Stamp Helmet.
A spokesman for the VMCC, IOM Section, commented “The event is not intended to be a full blown recreation of the hugely successful Motorcycling Festival of Jurby of previous years, but we do intend to put on a show to entertain the Manx Grand Prix visitors still on the Island after the racing has finished We expect to have on show and on track, many famous classic road and race bikes, including a wonderful Honda ‘6’ 250.”
More information, as it becomes available, on the VMCC Test Day, entries can be found on the website - www.vmcc.org or from secretary@vmcciom.org
