The Auto Cycle Union together with the Scottish Auto Cycle Union wish to announce that the European Championship Trial event scheduled for the weekend of 13th and 14th August will now be held at The Bob MacGregor Trials Academy, Totherick Quarry, KA3 4EH, Dunlop.
Unfortunately the original venue at Hume Castle is no longer available due to reasons beyond our control.
The Bob Macgregor Trials Academy is the spiritual home of Scottish Trials rider training and has hosted many top level events in recent years. The Scottish ACU under the leadership of Sandy Mack have always made the venue available and organised events as required.
The venue has seen several upgrades in recent times and with event support from Sport Scotland and a top class event is well on the way to being ready for riders and spectators alike in August.
ACU Chairman Roy Humphrey said that the ACU were delighted to welcome the European Trials Championship back to the UK after many years of absence and the chance to witness the young future trials talent at first hand was one to savour.
Sandy Mack, Scottish ACU Chairman has been the driving force behind this event and is working hard on the promotion of this event and declared “ Nothing will be too much trouble and we will deliver an event to be proud of”
The FIME has been truly supportive of this change and Trial Commission Chairman Magnus Liljeblad was fully behind the drive to bring the series to the UK.
Mick Wren ACU Trials and Enduro Committee Chairman and FIME Commission member enthused “it has been an ambition to bring the European Championship back to the UK and to have not just one, but two events in the space of a week is an achievement which I look forward to fulfilling. Sandy is a pleasure to work with as are the team of Murf and Michael Owen in the Isle of Man, this will be a memorable couple of weeks, don’t miss it! “
