Sunday saw a good entry for the small engine bikes who are running their own private pilot (for bikes up to 85cc) championship within the 80-125cc class at all EMRA meetings this year, with the objective of providing much more affordable racing and a new entry point for those who wish to ride smaller engine machines on a big bike circuit.
In both races David Degroot dominated the class stretching out a big lead on his SJL racing 85cc machine. Not only winning both the 80cc group class races but also finishing 2nd in the two EMRA 80-125cc class races. Ending the day as the championship leader in each class.
Allan Richardson finish 2nd in both the 80cc racing group events and took both the 3rd place trophies in the EMRA 80-125cc class on his 80cc Kawasaki.
A notable ride from Mackenzie Parsons on his Derbi based 80cc machine, scoring two 3rd places in this group on his road racing debut, definitely one to watch in the future.
The 80cc class sponsored by Rapid Light Transport are running a private (pilot) championship series at all EMRA meetings with a second standalone class championship at EMRA’s double header meeting in August for the Scott Park Shield.
The championships are open to all bikes up to 85cc complying to ACU and EMRA requirements. Please contact
