As
part of the ACU’s commitment to ensuring that safety remains at the core of our
sport, the ACU has a 'zero tolerance’ towards violence and abusive behaviour at
ACU permitted events.
The
ACU is committed to ensuring that any instances of violence or verbal abuse
directed towards any individual, be that an official, competitor or member of
the public, is entirely unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
Violence
and abusive behaviour at an ACU permitted event can be described as 'any
incident in which a person is abused, threatened or assaulted in circumstances
relating to their role'.
ACU
Chairman, Roy Humphrey commented; " No
one should have to experience abusive behaviour anywhere, and we do not want it
at our ACU events. Within our sport,
nothing is more important than the volunteers who ensure our events are run
safely, and we are committed to keeping our officials and competitors safe from
abuse".
