As we emerge out of what feels like a very long Winter and with the evenings drawing out Springtime is well and truly here.
This coming weekend competitors will come together at Three Sisters Race Circuit (Wigan) to take part in the annual ‘Warm Up Event’ for the 2022 ACU British Supermoto Championship which will be the first opportunity for many to shake down their new machinery, or in fact put winter rebuilds to the test. This will also be the first time for many new starters who are taking the plunge in racing and by attending at the weekend will give a real feel for not only race conditions, but moreover the camaraderie and welcome all newbies to the sport receive from the paddock.
For sure there will be many competitors getting their first glance of the competition and with some riders changing teams or setting out on new machinery a benchmark will be set of how hard they all have to push to stay at the front across the whole season.
In the Elite class this year’s Championship is anticipated to be just as thrilling as 2021 and to place money on any of the top ten finishers from last year taking the title 2022 would certainly be a gamble at this stage…..it could go to any of rider as all showed outstanding form last year.
Also so keep in mind there are many other classes within the ACU British Supermoto Championship that will be competing, with all having eyes on the prize of a 2022 title. From the Ladies Class, Novices to Clubmen and juniors the mix of talent and commitment from all taking part is something not only to be commended, but worthy of a visit to one of the rounds to see for yourself at first hand the speed and skill of these riders.
