Friday 17th December has been designated Orange Friday by the Southern 100 Marshals Associati
on. An Orange tabard has been thrown over the more recognised term ‘Black Friday’ to create a special day when live sign on for marshals wishing to marshal at any of our three events on the Colas Billown Course, becomes a live prospect on the new Southern 100 website.
We hope that by introducing sign on early it gives Marshals over the Christmas Holidays time to peruse and consider what they are able to do and to book time off work as necessary, and of course, travel and accommodation.
In regard to travel. We have recently announced the tremendous help for returning marshals from off Island to the Southern 100 in July, from our Title Sponsor the Steam-Packet Company. This is of course a loyalty-based scheme and is offered to those marshals who have qualified by marshalling at the Southern 100 the previous year. The previous year is of course 2019 due to the Pandemic. Any new marshal coming to the 2022 Southern 100 will qualify for the discount in 2023 so please consider marshalling at the Southern 100, you will not be disappointed. New marshals are required for all of our events and welcome. The depleting marshal’s situation applies to all real road racing events, and we are grateful for any support you can give.
Online sign on may be a problem for some marshals and if it is please do not worry. Sign on forms can be downloaded for completion and return or, if you wish yours to be posted out you are asked to let us know.
Please have a read of the information posted on the website, it is considerable and informative. If, however you experience any difficulties or have any questions, then please contact myself or Juan or Miles and we shall do our best to help you, email chiefmarshal@southern100.com.
Kind regards to every marshal
