The PP Sports ACU British Women’s Motocross Championship, the official British Women’s Motocross Championship heads to Skelder Bank, Whitby on the weekend of July 10th and 11th as the WMX adult class come to the end of their 2021 Championship.
Whitby is a hardpack track and has in previous years held prestigious events such as a round of the ACU British Motocross Championship, along with many national and club level races. The circuit offers great viewing for spectators in front of the impressive backdrop of Whitby Bay. The Skelder Bank track is widely recognised as one of the best venues in the North East and is always popular with both the riders and race fans alike.
Heading into the final round for the WMX Adult class Elaine MacEachern leads the Championship with 259 points but is closely followed by second place rider Kathryn Booth with just 9 points difference heading into the Championship finale. Grace Richards, Charlotte Hall and Marley Saunders are your current third to fifth place riders.
Whitby will also host the second round for the WMX 85cc riders who compete within the relevant Small Wheel 85cc and Big Wheel 85cc classes, but scored separately. Leading the way at the half way point in the Big Wheel 85cc category is Lucy Barker with 107 points, followed by Hollie Roberts in second, Ellie Allsopp in third and Ebony Brown, Miley Hodgson rounding out the top five.
In the WMX Small Wheel 85cc category it’s the number 31 of Libby Chatburn who leads the Championship heading into the second round at the Skelder Bank circuit with a 14 point lead with the number 40 machine of Jessie-Lee Jessopp.
