This weekend the ACU Michelin British Enduro Championship is coming back to life after just under a 2-month break. Nestled away in the Welsh countryside rounds 3 and 4 will be at rider and spectator favourite, the Hafren Enduro! From grass spirals to unexpected bogs mixed in long days on the bike riders will need to be smart and look after both body and bike. But is sure to be a fantastic event as per usual with the Hafren Dirt Bike Club hosting.
Fast Eddy’s Tom Sagar will be looking to continue his winning streak from Rounds 1 and 2 where he showed he really is the guy to beat this year! It will not be an easy task with a pool of other championship riders wanting a piece of the top step. Could Local man Alex Walton be the guy to do it? With a 2nd and 3rd in Rounds one and two, he really is in contention for the Championship honours. 2020 hero Josh Gotts will also be gunning for the top spot after his return from the World Championship rounds, but with Joe Wootton and plenty of others to mix things up anything could happen.
The Expert category is as wide open as ever, experienced riders and youngsters battling it out for the top places. Alfie Webb was on top form in previous rounds narrowly missing out on a 1-1 scorecard. With the pair of Harry’s (Houghton and Hillier-Rees) pushing him hard on separate days. Rich Ely and Ryan Crowder will also want their experience to help them reach top in the Hafren forest. Also making a return to racing this weekend is Greg Evans, who is a past British Champion.
As ever the large entry of clubman riders will make the class difficult to come out on top. Jacob Roper managed Rounds 1 and 2 perfectly, can he do it again?
John Shirt’s dominance in the Over 40’s will make him a target for the other competitors to try and reach. Paul Herbert and Darren Kiff came closest in the previous rounds so will be hoping to pressure Shirty.
Gary McCoy will be looking to improve on his 3-2 score card and take the top spot away from Karl Greenall in the Over 50’s. With a good entry in the class, it will be a great fight for the podium.
