Date of Issue: 27th April 2021.
The Welsh Government has confirmed the relaxations that has taken place with effect 26th April. Outdoor attractions, including outdoor swimming pools, funfairs and theme parks, will be allowed to reopen. So far as motorcycle sport is concerned, organised outdoor activities for up to 30 people will also be able to take place.
Wales has the lowest coronavirus rates of the UK nations. The successful vaccine programme continues with a higher proportion of people vaccinated in Wales than other nations of the UK for both first and second doses.
• Activities for under 18s and only under 18s do not have a cap on gathering limits, but smaller events would be in keeping with the spirit of the guidance at this stage.
• Gatherings for adults (and mixed groups of adults and children) will be limited to 30.
• Where gatherings are for those of mixed age groups including adults, under 11s do not count towards the cap of 30, however those aged 12-18 do.
• Officials and first aiders will not count in the total of 30, so an event can have 30 participants plus a compliment of Officials and first aiders to provide support.
Following further monitoring and review, the Welsh Government may increase the outdoor limit to 50 at some point in the near future, potentially as early as late May.
Annette Freeman, Commercial Manager at Anglesey Circuit commented, ‘Whilst it is frustrating that we are unable to hold any events at Anglesey in the short term due to the gathering limits, it is encouraging to see some progress in Wales that restrictions are being lifted and we look forward to being able to stage motorsport events in the near future’.
Further updates will be distributed in accordance with UK Government Advice/Guidance.
