Midshires Grasstrack is delighted that following the successful staging of the second Semi Final of the FIME Individual Grass Track Championship in 2019 and the unfortunate events across the globe in 2020 with the coronavirus pandemic, that the FIM Europe Track Racing Commission and Auto Cycle Union have selected the club to stage the 2021 European Individual Grass Track Final which will again be held at our Lower Fosse Field venue near Leamington Spa on Sunday 15th August 2021.
Planning is well underway for the Final with some new ideas to make the meeting as high profile as possible to put the UK firmly back on the map in staging International Championship events with fun for all the family being guaranteed.
Matthew Wear, Vice Chairman of Midshires GTC commented "It is a terrific honour for our small but hard working committee to be staging the biggest meeting in Europe and we will do everything we can to provide a top quality race track and venue that this event deserves. We look forward to welcoming all the riders from across Europe for this meeting where we will crown the 2021 European Champion. We are very grateful to all of our sponsors who helped the club over the years and we hope we can build on these relationships and welcome new sponsorship partners for the 2021 European Final"
Sponsorship packages are now available from race sponsors all the way to major sponsorship partners, and should this be of interest please email
sponsorship@midshiresgrasstrack.com Tony Steele, ACU Track Racing Chairman added "Having been allocated the Final in 2020 it was a body blow to Midshires GTC being forced to cancel the staging of the meeting due to the Covid situation. Arrangements for such high profile meetings do not come about overnight and a huge amount of hard work and effort was lost. Fortunately, the enthusiasm and tenacity of all at the club has shone through the difficult time we have all faced and both the ACU and Midshires GTC are delighted that the opportunity to present the meeting in 2021 has been confirmed. After the drought of activity faced in the current year, hopefully the opportunity to see the biggest names in European Grass Track in action will reward Midshires with a large turnout for their optimism in believing British fans want to see the best the sport has to offer."
Further information will be released in the coming weeks and months so be sure to keep an eye on our website
www.midshiresgrasstrack.com and social media platforms for all the latest news for the event. Save the date,
Sunday 15th August 2021 and make sure it is entered in your 2021 diary, as big time Grass Track racing returns to the Midlands. Prior to the Final the riders will battle it out over the two semi-finals which will be held in Bielefeld, Germany and Tayac, France in June and July respectively.
