Drew Kemp is putting his birthday celebrations on hold - as he heads to the Czech Republic to compete in the European Under-19 Championship.
Ipswich and Eastbourne youngster Kemp, who turned 18 on Tuesday, will be looking to qualify from Friday’s semi-final at Pardubice and then improve on last year’s fifth-place finish in the Final in Slovakia on Sunday.
He said: “I’m aiming to make it a double celebration. I haven’t had a massive amount of experience riding in Europe, just Germany and Slovakia, but I think I’ve had enough to know what I need to do, and I know I’m capable of doing it.
“Even without racing in the UK, I’m more than ready for the European Under-19s.
“The Pardubice track in the Czech Republic is big, wide and fast which suits me well. That's the type of track I like for sure – I’m really looking forward to it.”
