The FIM have confirmed the cancellation of the World Under-21 qualifying rounds – meaning Belle Vue will be unable to stage their event as planned.
The Aces were due to host some of the sport’s top youngsters on June 6, but the meeting as with those in Latvia and Germany will now not take place, with places in the Final series now to be decided by nominations from individual Federations.
Belle Vue CEO Adrian Smith said: “We are naturally disappointed to hear that the World U21 Qualifiers have been cancelled as a result of the coronavirus.
“We thoroughly enjoyed hosting the U21 World Team Finals in 2019 and hope that we will once again welcome other prestigious FIM competitions to Manchester in the future.
“However, in the circumstances, the safety of the riders, mechanics and officials, as well as our own staff and volunteers, must come first.
“We are grateful to all of our supporters for their continued patience and backing at this difficult time, and we hope they will continue their support as and when the British Speedway season commences.”
