With just over two weeks until entries close for the 2020 Blackford’s Pre-TT Classic Road Races on Monday 30th March, race organisers are concerned by the lack of entries received so far for the
Junior Post Classic Superbike Race.
The Junior Post Classic Superbikes cater for 230cc to 350cc Two Strokes plus 600cc four Strokes four Cylinder Machines & 750cc four stroke twin cylinder machines and in previous years have provided some close exciting racing, bringing back the sounds and sights of the two-stroke domination much to the delight of the fans, as much as the riders themselves!
Race Secretary, George Peach said:
‘ Last year at this time we had 24 entries, this year the total 12, and whilst the race will still run this year, it doers not provide the organisers with a lot of confidence to continue with the class in future years. ‘We keep reading on social media etc.., that people want to race these classic two-stroke racing machines, so it is disappointing when the offer is made the entries are not taken up.’
In contrast to the Junior Classic Superbike entries the other racing classes, Senior 500; Junior 350; Lightweight 250; 850cc; Singles 350/250; Post Classic Superbikes and the ever popular Sidecars are filling up well for the 2020 races which take place on Friday and Saturday 29th & 30th May and Monday 1st June, followed by the unique Open Air Prize Presentation in Castletown Square on Tuesday afternoon 2nd June.
