Southern 100 Racing are pleased to confirm that Hunt’s Motorcycles will continue in the role of Race Headline Sponsor for the Southern 100 Solo Championship Race for 2020, their second year and third in total as a partner of the ‘friendly races’.
The 500cc Race and subsequently the Solo Championship race has been the feature race of the Southern 100 Road Races since the event was first run in 1955, when Liverpudlian Terry Shepherd riding a Norton won the 24-lap race, exactly 100 miles, (hence the title of the races) at a speed of 78.260mph, with a fastest lap of 80.950mph.
This year, 2018 Dean Harrison, won his second Solo Championship at an average speed of 111.565mph with a fastest lap at 113.825mph. The Silicone Kawasaki rider taking the ‘Man of the Meeting’ Award with six race victories in all.
