RHL Activities is pleased to announce that reigning FIM EnduroGP World Champion Steve Holcombe will be lining up to compete at the Weston Beach Race, which takes place on October 18-20.
Holcombe, who races for Beta Factory Racing, has won four Enduro World Championships over the last three consecutive seasons and is one of Britain’s best enduro talents. The 25-year-old from Devon currently leads the E3 Enduro World Championship with two rounds to go. Steve’s 2019 Weston Beach Race participation will be his third, where he’ll be looking to put on a good show for the crowds at the 37th running of the Weston-Super-Mare event.
Formerly a motocross racer, Holcombe has worked his way through the ranks to be one of the major forces in the international enduro scene. The Beta racer will take on the likes of world-class talent Billy Bolt and Mel Pocock for the prestigious Weston Beach Race crown, although it’s a notoriously tough race with its enormous dune course combined with a long, flat-out straight – a battle for both man and machine.
While the Weston Beach Race terrain may be different from Holcombe’s usual style of enduro competition, he’s expected to be a real force to be reckoned with amongst the 1,000 competitors in the spectacular solo race in Weston-Super-Mare. Holcombe competed at the event some years ago, with a best result of 12
th, but this year Steve, who is relatively local to the area, certainly has his eyes on the podium and his preparations are already underway.

“I’m excited to make a return to the Weston Beach Race. It’s the largest race of its kind in Great Britain and with it being an hour from my doorstep, it’s pretty much a home race for me. I’ve only ever done it twice before in 2012 and 2013, with my best result of 12th. That all happened before I became a professional rider, so now with a lot more experience and some Enduro World Championship titles under my belt, I’m keen to see how things go this time around. I want to be up there and fight for the victory - winning Weston Beach Race is a real honour and something I’d definitely like to achieve. I’m preparing well for it and will race the Beta RR 430 four-stroke that we’ve built specially for the race. Along with the competitive aspect, it’s hard to beat the whole festival vibe of the race. It’s going to be a lot of fun and a great way to sign off a busy year. I can’t wait!”

“We’re delighted that Steve will compete at the 2019 Weston Beach Race. This unique event has attracted star riders over many decades and to have a world champion with Steve’s pedigree is something very special, especially for the amateur riders competing against him and for the spectators. Steve has raced here in the past and has wanted to be here in the last few years, but his schedule hasn’t made it possible. We’re really looking forward to welcoming him back and I am sure he will be looking for an improved finish or even a podium, having had a couple of attempts at the race in the past and with his experience that has brought him numerous world championships. I hope the local fans will come and support him and we wish him the best of luck for the weekend!”
The Weston Beach Race will be another incredible event this year with a jam-packed schedule of racing combined with a host of off-track activities for all of the family. For more information please visit: www.rhlactivities.com Photo Credit - Future7Media
