On Tuesday 17th September, the Board of the Auto-Cycle Union met and discussed how best to support our clubs and riders in the future. In particular, we considered how best to support ACU motocross into the future and are pleased to confirm the following: For clubs joining the ACU from 18th September 2019, the affiliation fee will cover the remainder of 2019, and the whole of 2020.
ACU Licences for all members will be frozen at £52 for 2020. Trials Registrations will be frozen at £12. The new licences and registrations will be available from Mid-October at the Weston Beach Race or through www.ride-acu.uk
The cost of BASIC Insurance permits (Enduro and Motocross) will be reduced from £699 to £500 for a one-day event, and £920 to £700 for a two-day event. This represents a saving to clubs of 28.5% for a one-day event and 24% for a two-day event.
Chairman of the Motocross Committee, Steve McCauley said “The ACU are committed to supporting grassroots motorcycling in all disciplines. This reduction in permits for basic permits, will help out motocross clubs in particular who are facing increasing costs in other areas.” Clubs who are considering joining the ACU should contact Sonia Goggin at sonia@acu.org.uk or Neil Doctor at
neil@acu.org.uk or call 01788 566400.
