Next weekend 13/14 of July, thirteen FSRA Pre-injection sidecar teams head North to East Fortune for their fourth round of the Adrian Lane Building services and Pagid Racing sponsored championship. With Wes Pettman 720 Yamaha currently second in the F1 class traveling from Kent and Steve Alexander 1000 GPZ Kawasaki from Suffolk. The furthest traveller will be F2 class Gerald Hodgson and his son Daniel 600 commuting back from Cyprus where he works. All will be trying to catch the current F2 leader’s Rob Fisher and Rick long 600 Yamaha, but missing will be the current second place holders the Chandler brothers who are having to concentrate their finances to compete at the Southern 100. This will be an opportunity for Hayley Christie with still at school passenger Mathew Sims to hope to claim second place in the F2 championship. Trying to stop them will be Mathews Father and Brother 600 FZR Yamaha and the ever-improving husband and wife Andy and Joanne Thomas 600 Thunder Yamaha. Not too many points adrift are Alan Longshaw/Derek Salleh, Ian Sutcliffe/Rob Bryant both on Thundercat’s. The F1 class after three wins out of three at the Donington the last round Joe Heys/Gary Wheeler will be hoping maximum points on their Kawasaki ZZR1100 to close the present F1 leaders Dave Tibbles/Raitch Greenwood FJ1100 Yamaha. The monster R1 based outfit of Lee Chadwick/Steve Fairclough hoping improved reliability will help their championship places. Thank you to the enthusiastic well organised army of volunteers at the Melville MRC who have welcomed the FSRA Pre-injection series over the past ten years providing an excellent weekend’s meeting with two races each day and again their own grid.
