There’s a tidy entry for the back-to-back rounds of the ACU Wessex Plant British Sidecar Trials Championship in the Isle of Man this weekend.
Both events are hosted by Peveril Motor Cycle and Light Car Club, based at Knock Froy, Santon - three miles south of the island’s capital town of Douglas.
The Andy Smith Trial on Saturday will start and end with sections at the club’s HQ, but also includes Ellerslie, Old Stoney Mountain, South Barrule and Cringle quarries, and South Barrule plantation.
The David Craine Trophy event on Sunday is again book-ended by groups at Knock Froy, with additional sections at Rushen Abbey banks, Billown glen, Pooil Vaaish and nearby Scarlett.
Round one winner Jon Tuck is without his regular sidekick, Matt Sparkes, for the trip across the Irish Sea, and has Izzy Saunders deputising on the TRRS 300.
Reigning champions Josh and Luke Golding may well start as favourites, while the only other crews contesting the championship class are Nigel and Gracie-May Scott, and locals William Caine and Sam Baxter.
Jack Corlett and Beth Thomas will be hoping to extend their early lead in the Intermediate class, likewise Paul Fishlock and Sam Atherton in Clubman.
A total of 16 crews are entered, both days begin at 10am
