The Normandy Motor Cycle Club stage the first of ten ACU Wessex Plant Hire sponsored sidecar championship events at Dunsfold Surrey on Sunday. Clerk of Course Richard Thomas and his team have plotted thirty-six quadruple section route at the Rams Lane venue and all are on private land. No roadwork involved.
The good news is twenty-eight crews will start. That is well up on last year’s numbers. The breakdown is four Experts, three Inters, sixteen Clubman, two Newcomers and three non-championship Sportsman entries.
Current champions Josh and Luke Golding again joust with Jon Tuck and Matt Sparkes. Inter champions Nigel and Gracie–Mae Scott join the party riding the Luscombe Beta.
Manx pair Jack Corlett and Beth Thomas have Robbie Head and Aaron Jacobs plus Sean and Paul Cuckow to deal with in the Inter ranks.
As for the Clubman ranks it is too wide to call. Mick Treagus, Karl Jarvis, Bernard Chambers, John Corlett, Paul Collins. How will Newcomer champions Elliott and Graham Tickner fare against such experienced characters. The dark horse is Wessex sponsor Phil Sparkes who has persuaded Izzy Saunders to take the hot seat.
Start time for the battle of Sethern commences at 10.00 am.
