Good news from the Eastern Centre, as it is confirmed that Bickers Lifting are continuing to sponsor the ACU Eastern MX Championships in 2019, in conjunction with Stebbings Car Superstore, based in Kings Lynn.
Recognised as one of the leading regional championships in the UK, ACU Eastern MX committee chairman, Charlie Ralph stated, "We are so pleased that Paul Bickers and Anthony Skerry are supporting us in 2019, both former expert graded riders, they are both committed to supporting the grass roots of the sport. With increasing costs for land hire, medical services etc, the sponsorship package will ensure that the five clubs involved can continue to promote the series to the high standard that has been achieved for the past few years".
Added to this news is that Simon Eastwell of HRM Boilers is also continuing to support the series. Simon has awarded holeshot cash prizes for the past two years, and for 2019 will award end of year cash awards to 1st and 2nd year rookie experts in a bid to nurture and encourage younger riders who have made the jump to expert status.
The experienced committee, which includes current and former riders, have made a few tweaks to next year’s series meaning at least five of the seven rounds will now accommodate up to 200 riders, which should alleviate online entry issues, however, due to time constraints and smaller paddock areas, two rounds can only accept 160 entries.
Premier (Expert) class prize money will now be paid down to 10th place in each race, with the Junior Championship paying the top five in each moto.
