Woodbridge & DMCC has won the coveted Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship Organiser of the Year award for the third consecutive time. The Suffolk club staged the third round of this year’s series at its fantastic Blaxhall circuit, running classes for the MX1, MX2, MXY2 and British Two-stroke championships as part of a packed programme that featured nine points-paying races.
“As a club it is a great honour to have been given this award for the third time running,” said Woodbridge Press Officer Richard Blyth. “Over the off-season we’ve spent a number of weeks redesigning the track layout to give a fresh feel to the venue for the riders and teams.”
“The news that we have become the first organiser to claim the award three times is a real proud moment for all at the club and our valued local sponsors. Over the last four seasons we feel we have continued to improve the venue and will continue to enhance people’s experience at the event in 2019 and beyond.”
Series Manager Stuart Drummond paid tribute to all the organisers involved with this year’s championship. “Competition for this award is always very fierce so well done to Woodbridge for making it a hat-trick of wins,” he said. “Every year the bar is raised and all the event organisers – some of whom were forced to deal with extremely adverse weather conditions this season – put in a huge effort.”
The club will receive its award at the annual ACU presentation evening at the National Motorcycle Museum on January 26.
