Midshires Grasstrack Club proudly presents on behalf of the Auto Cycle Union (ACU) the 2019 FIME European Solo Grasstrack Championship Semi Final. Midshires look forward to welcoming both European competitors and spectators alike to our superb venue in heart of the Midlands at Lower Fosse Farm, Fosse Way, Leamington Spa, CV31 1XJ, United Kingdom on Sunday 23rd June 2019. Dickie Staff, ACU Track Racing Chairman said ‘on behalf of the ACU’s Track Racing Committee (TRC), I would like to congratulate the Midshires Grasstrack Club on their successful application to the European Federation (the FIME), for the staging of this prestigious event. In recent years the Astra Grass Track Club – based in Kent – have been very supportive of the ACU in organising and staging European Grass Track championship events, but they have taken the decision that having run so many meetings of this type for a number of years, they no longer wish to do so. This in turn has offered an exciting opportunity for the Midshires club to become involved in organising European championship meetings, and one I am sure, they will achieve to a high standard’. Matthew Wear, Midshires GTC Club spokesman said “Midshires are delighted to be staging this FIME European Grasstrack Semi Final and look forward to working with the ACU to organise and stage a top-class event. The meeting will incorporate the ‘Master of Midshires’ support classes for both 500cc Solos and 1000cc right hand Sidecars. The club has worked very hard over the last few years in building up the events we have run, and the committee are very excited by this new challenge..... we are all ready to step up to the European Championship stage.” Full details reading the event will be available over the coming weeks and months.
