It’s the final showdown this weekend (October 27 & 28) for the 2018 Judd KTM British Youth National Championship Powered by Parts Europe and the Steve Benton Transport British Under 21 Championship on Weston-Super-Mare beach where the battles will commence to decide this year’s champions.
For the first time ever Weston-Super-Mare will host the ACU British Youth and Under 21 Championships on the beach following last weekend’s HydroGarden Weston Beach Race Powered by KTM. A new challenge for the youngsters, it’s also the first time a British Motocross Championship event has been held on a beach in the UK.
RHL Activities have brought in one of the country’s top track builders, Johnny Groves, to prepare the circuit for this weekend. Groves is keen to create a quality track layout on the beach for the youth riders, to challenge them as they battle for supremacy at the final round of their championships.
With all class titles still yet to be decided, October 27 & 28 should make for spectacular viewing as the UK’s best upcoming talent will compete on the difficult Weston sand – a learning curve designed to help the youngsters as they climb the racing ladder. Currently leading the standings heading into this weekend are Hayden Statt, Ashton Boughen, Bailey Johnston, Sam Atkinson, Ike Carter, Aaron-Lee Hanson and Rossi Beard.
Gareth Hockey Director of RHL Activities
“Bringing the Judd KTM British Youth National Championship Powered by Parts Europe and the Steve Benton Transport British Under 21 Championship to race on Weston-super-Mare beach this weekend will be a new challenge for the youngsters. The track crew are working hard on flattening the circuit from the HydroGarden Weston Beach Race Powered by KTM last weekend to begin sculpting a track for the final youth showdown of this year. I would like to wish all the riders the best of luck for this weekend and I look forward to some outstanding racing in the deciding races for the championship titles.”
With two races per class on each day, including the 50cc Autos, 65cc, 85cc SW/BW, 125cc, Open and Under 21 categories, it’s a huge schedule of competition across the weekend. Make sure you head down to Weston-Super-Mare to see which juniors reign supreme – the event is free for spectators. To find out more about more head over to: www.rhlactivities.com
