The ACU Motocross Department are pleased to announce that Team Great Britain has named its team to compete in the Quad Cross of Nations with Harry Walker, George Callaway and Sheldon Seal flying the flag. The trio will take on teams from around the world, including reigning champions Team USA, at Slagelse in Denmark on 22nd-23rd of September. Speaking about the selection, Team Manager Karl Robinson, said: “It was a tough choice as there a lot of good riders in contention for a place, but we have gone for riders on form, with good international experience and who should go well at that kind of track.” In Walker and Callaway, the team has the riders who have owned the last two rounds of the British Championship, plus Walker has just finished third in the European Championship. Seal meanwhile, who does not compete in the British Championship, was a front-runner in this year’s highly competitive French Sand Championship. Robinson added: “We have to thank the sponsors who have already contributed to the funding the team, including the ACU, the NETT and NORA club’s and Filtec, but we still need help to finance the team, so if anyone can help we would be very grateful.” Anyone wishing to help the team can call Karl on 07711 556470. Official supporters’ shirts will go on sale soon to the general public with all profits going towards funding the team. Watch this space for details. All three riders will be making their debut in the competition and all three will be Yamaha mounted. Callaway was previously selected for the team (in 2015) but had to miss the event after suffering multiple injuries in a crash two weeks before. Last year the Great Britain team of George Day, Dafydd Davies and Carl Bunce finished fifth. GB has never won the event since its inception in 2009. France has won three times, Holland twice, with single wins for the USA, Italy and Belgium.
