An exhibition of rare and unusual motorcycle racing photographs will be an added attraction for grandstand visitors at this year's Manx Grand Prix. The public display will be in the Manx Radio Studio/Sure Shop under the grandstand for the full fortnight of the event. The display has been put together by former MGP racer, author and racing historian Bill Snelling, who arranges a charity display each year for Manx Grand Prix and TT at the Laxey Woollen Mills. For each exhibition, Mr Snelling scours his vast collection of racing images through the ages to put together each display of pictures, which tend to focus on the quirky, unusual or simply funny side of the events. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the first MGP Newcomers' race and as the 1st Newcomer, off the Start Line, in that actual race, Mr Snelling has chosen the Newcomers' 40th anniversary as his display theme.
