The Wirral Hundred club has been visiting Oulton Park in April for the last 63 years and this year’s event on Saturday 28th April is expected to again see sizeable grids for all of the club championship races. The meeting also hosts rounds of the FSRA Pre-Injection Sidecar championship and the Earlystocks Club championship, and features the David Swallow Memorial Race for Classic machines up to 500cc, for which father Bill and David’s long-term sponsor Ken Platt have combined with the club to provide £500 of prize money for those competing on single-cylinder machines.
With the weather-hit start to the season the club is also looking forward to welcoming an influx of visiting riders keen to make up for the loss of valuable track time; high amongst those may well be riders who still need signatures to achieve their 2018 Isle of Man mountain course licences, together with those riders competing in the HEL Performance British Motostar championship, who have been given dispensation by MSVR to compete in W100’s 100-500cc Allcomers races, notwithstanding the fact that the event takes place within 7 days of the BSB event at Oulton Park the following weekend.
Entry forms can be downloaded from the club’s website www.wirral100.co.uk; any enquiries should be directed to the club’s race secretary Margaret Dewsnap (tel 01244 813127).
