Irwin doubles up for Maxxis Finale at Foxhill
Newly-crowned Maxxis ACU British MX1 champion Graeme Irwin will sign off from this year's championship by racing both pro classes at the series finale at Foxhill on August 27.

“It’s just for a bit of fun and seems like a good way to end what’s been a great season for me," said the 24-year-old Buildbase Honda rider. "The work’s done – it’s not as though we’re going to go there worrying about the championship – and Foxhill isn’t as physically demanding as some other circuits.

"Harri Kullas has been doing it a fair bit this season so I thought I’d have a go as well."

Buildbase Honda is building up a CRF250R to the same spec as his team-mate Martin Barr's race bike and Graeme's aiming to shake things up in his first MX2 race since 2013.

“We’re still going to treat it seriously though – I’m not just going to go there to ride around and make up the numbers, I want to be competitive and hopefully put it on the box. That would be lovely but we’ll see – it’s a fast class.

“Like I said, it's just for a bit of fun but I also think riding the 250 will make me more aggressive and help keep me sharp for the Nations."
