The season is set to start with a bang this weekend at Wakes Colne with the first round of the Bickers Lifting ACU Eastern championships. The small team have been hard at work over the winter to ensure the track is the best it can be for the season opener. Jason Morland has been working on the circuit to make a few tweaks to the layout including along the fast back straight which we hope will improve the drainage as well as introducing some different lines.
The Championship is going to be very tough this year if the entries are anything to go by with a full 40 expert graded riders set to charge up the hill when racing gets underway. We have managed to attract some of the British Championship riders including Halstead club rider Lewis Tombs, George Grigg-Petitt and Michael McClurg but the local experts Luke Parker, Luke Benstead, Brad Tomlin, Jason Morland will be using all there experience of the track to take the chequered flag.
The Junior championship will also be a very competitive affair. The entries had been filled within one week of opening. But with last years front runners now moving to the experts it is wide open.
Spectators have a great all round view from the centre off the circuit. It is a meeting not to be missed that’s for sure. Adults are just £10 entry for what is set to be a fantastic day at the historic Wakes Colne Circuit.
