Enjoying some of the best weather February had to offer along with a freshly modified much improved Sherwood circuit, LSMX and Judd Racing hosted a National warm up meeting last weekend.
As a shakedown exercise for the opening round of the British Premier Cup at Preston Docks March 11th/12
th, and having to cope with some unforeseen circumstances including the lack of a transponder system, the weekend proved a valuable experience for all concerned.
In the Auto's Zane Stephens and Franky Jubb won their respective sections dropping just two points apiece from five races run. McKenzie Marshall ended the weekend as top dog in the Junior 65's, he successfully fended off Billy Moriarty and Louie Vincent as they placed second and third overall respectively.
Bailey Johnson was the clear cut winner in the s/w 85's taking four of the five heat wins as Jack Grayshon went one better bagging a clean sweep of all five as he dominated in the b/w 85's. Billy Carter had a great weekend picking up the runner up award in the b/w 85's as next up the guys of MXY2 put on a classic show. With a good mix of 250f and 125cc exponents Team Green's big hope this year Lewis Hall was outstanding. On the Kawasaki four stroke Hall hit four out of five heat wins pushed all the way at times in a great set of races.
Declan Hunter was the top 125cc runner claiming the other race win - Hunter going on to finish as runner up in the combined overall result. Drew Anderson also riding 125 picked up third overall, Sam Price made fourth with section newbie Ike Carter fifth.
In the Adult races Tony Cadman, Aaron Collins and Richy Roberts filled the top three respectively in the Clubman division, as in the Experts a battle royal ended with Cory Nemeth claiming top spot from Howard Wainwright with Jack Rowlands making third overall.
