The final two rounds of the R.T.Keedwell sponsored British Trials Championship were held at the Bob McGregor Trials Academy last weekend by the East Lothian Club where current British Champion James Dabill scored clear cut wins on both days to notch up 10 wins from the 11 round series. Second on both days was Jack Price with Jack Sheppard third on both days, the three riders finishing the year in the same order.
In the Expert class Tom Minta won Saturday’s round to clinch the series from Dan Thorpe, last year’s champion, and Tom Affleck, whilst in the Youth A category Jack Peace, the World Trial 125 Champion added the British Youth A Championship to his 2016 collection by winning again on Saturday to take ten wins from ten rounds. Second and third youths overall were Kieren Child and Josh Hanlon
Both Minta and Peace elected to tackle the more difficult Championship category for Sunday’s round, having both safely secured their respective crowns and both riders immediately established their credentials with Peace finishing eighth on Sunday and Minta twelfth.
