The week of preparations in Spain is nearly over with the start of the 91st ISDE less than 24 hours away. All of the British team are in the paddock in Navarra, bike preparations have been completed and the bikes are now in the parc ferme, and all the walking of the many special tests is over. As the final arrangements are being put into place team manager Dusty Martin has been reflecting on the support that’s helped the team to this point.
ACU GB ISDE Team Manager, Dusty Martin:
“It’s been a busy week, sorting the bikes and the service arrangements while the riders have been walking the tests and fine-tuning their bikes prior to the start tomorrow morning. It’s going to be an interesting week as we see how the new format (four riders in the Trophy squad, three in the Juniors) affects the competition. “As ever, this is also an opportune moment to thank all those that have got us here. Firstly a huge debt of gratitude must again go to Rygor for the three Mercedes vans that have transported the team bikes and gear to the event. This is the 12th year Rygor has supported the team and unquestionably this is a fantastic level of support that we enjoy from them. “As well, this year we again have the support of Power Enhancer, Endurotyres.com, Body Clinic and, new to the team, RUST Sports Media and LaserMaster. Thanks are also due to the design and graphics input from Lee Fareham at D-zign (helmets) and Ryan Austin at Racegeer (shirts). Also a word of thanks to all the riders’ personal sponsors, without whom they wouldn’t be here. “Everything now is very close to being in place, we are ready to go. We’ve an incredibly talented team this year, who have World and European championship titles to their names, we have the talent to again reach for podium results. So thank you to all our sponsors and supporters, and good luck to our riders, to the other British club team riders – and all the riders taking part, let’s have a safe and enjoyable Six Days!”
