The Ian Bell trophy has been created for the overall winner of the popular and ever growing sidecar race series which has been held at Scarborough's Oliver's Mount events, Isle of Man TT, Southern 100 and Auto 66's Cadwell Park events during 2016.
Named after the legend of the sport; Ian bell who tragically lost his life at the Isle of Man TT this year.
The multi times sidecar champion, TT winner and Oliver's Mount hero was admired by fellow competitors and fans at every event he attended.
It was felt by organisers and riders that naming a trophy after him this would be a fitting tribute.
We would like to thank the bell family for allowing us to continue Ian's name in the sport. After a visit by Carl bell to the Barry Sheene festival in Scarborough last week it was great to get the family's blessing for this new trophy.
The next round of the series is at Cadwell Park on 10th/11th September and is followed by the Oliver's Mount Gold Cup on 24th/25th September and then the final round at the sidecar bash at Cadwell Park on 22nd/23rd October.
