After the success of the 2015 Battle of Britain meeting at Croft arranged to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the event. The Two organisations are again teamed together and on August Bank Holiday Weekend 27
th and 28
th of August 2016 they promote what is hoped will become an annual event.
Steve Anderson proprietor of AM Leathers at Barnard Castle a former competitor and member of the NEMCRC has very kindly put up a prize fund of £1500 for the Senior race (Group A).
Ken Blacklock of North East Motorcycles Durham City a former sidecar competitor and great support of the club together with the other sponsors of NEMCRC have combined to donate an equal amount of prize funding for the lightweight event (Group B) This gives a total prize fund for the motorcycle races at the moment of £3000 for the meeting. This will be divided equally between the two groups. (I.e. £1500 prize money paying down to 15
th place in each group)
As this is a mixed car and bike meeting there are only 80 places allocated for motorcycles on the grid. (2x 40 grids) The programme will be the same as last year. Group A being the Senior unlimited class and Group B the lightweight class. Each group will have one 15-minute practise session and two 8 lap races per day.
The overall winner of each group will receive a Battle of Britain Trophy which they will keep
The NEMCRC have again secured a round of the FSRA /ACU F2 Sidecar Championship for this year’s meeting. This together with the Norths top class car racing makes for a very entertaining meeting.
There will be a hospitality Marque provided by the DDMC during the weekend with a Hog roast and entertainment on Saturday night
