With Motocross and off-road motorcycling becoming increasingly popular, which inevitably results in more theft, ACU Events are pleased to announce that Datatag, an anti-theft system, will be a partner of the 2016 Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship supported by Pro Clean.
Datatag is an electronic transponder that is designed to be placed discretely on property that is to be protected such as motorcycles. The tiny unit that is as small as a grain of rice possesses a unique identification code that can be read by a hand-held scanner used by the UK’s police force. This means that even if all other identification numbers have been removed, the police will ALWAYS identify Datatagged property and the thief WILL be prosecuted.
Each Datatag system is supplied with tamper-resistant warning decals that let the criminal know that the property is protected by one of the UK's leading electronic anti-theft deterrents, and this is usually enough to convince them to go looking for an easier target.
As well as featuring electronic transponders, the Datatag systems also include additional components such as Datadot microdots and etching stencils. These allow owners to mark virtually every major component on their property, and make it 'too hot to handle' for the professional criminal!
Datatag was formed in the early 1990’s as a subsidiary of Mitsui of Japan, and was originally designed to combat motorcycle theft. Since then Datatag has become a privately owned independent company that has already proved to be a major success in preventing motorcycle theft. Datatag have gone on to expand their market and have developed a range of Datatag systems suitable for scooters, ATV’s, Personal Watercraft, Bicycles, Equine, Marine, Caravans and Motorhomes, Trailers, Construction Equipment, Aggricultural Equipment, IT, Office Equipment and other valuables.
Datatag's powerful IBM 'i' series computer can be accessed by the Police and other selected official bodies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, giving them immediate access to the information they need in the fight against crime.
Full training is given to the UK's Police Forces, and Datatag have supplied the UK's law enforcement bodies with thousands of specialist scanners that are used to identify suspect property in a fraction of the time taken by more conventional methods. This is just something else Datatag does to help our sport as well as offering support to the 2016 Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship which is greatly appreciated.
