With the motocross season already in full swing the Woodbridge and DMCC are preparing for an exciting and action packed year ahead at their Blaxhall venue. During the 2016 season the Woodbridge club will be hosting four Motocross events including a round of the prestigious Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship supported by Pro Clean on July 17th.
The first meeting of the season will take place on Sunday 17
th April and feature line-ups of Experts and Junior graded riders. Entries for this event are already open and with a number of Experts and up and coming Junior riders already entered it is sure to be an great days racing to start the season. The meeting will also include a round of the NGR Championship for riders over the age of 30.
On the 15
th May the club will be hosting the 3
rd round of the ACU Eastern Motocross Championship for both Expert and Junior classes. With the championship facing some changes to the format for the 2016 season, local riders including Luke Parker, Declan Whittle, Jason Morland, Brad Tomlin, Brad Woodroffe and many more will all be looking to put on a good show in the Expert Class, while in the Junior class the racing will be close fought and intense.
Following the success of last year’s British Championship event at Blaxhall the club are pleased to be hosting the sixth round of the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship supported by Pro Clean on Sunday July 17th. With a new format for Europe’s premier domestic championship which sees Grand Prix riders from across Europe, including countries such as France, Estonia and Russia competing against Britain's best World and European talent, along with some of the best home grown riders. With three championship classes and six races in action including the highly competitive MX1 and MX2 classes and the MXY2 featuring the future of British Motocross. Local front runners will include Jake Nicholls (Ipswich), and Elliott Banks-Browne (Bury St Edmunds) who will both compete in front of their home crowd alongside other local stars such as James Cottrell (Ipswich), and Lewis Tombs.
The final meeting of the year will be on the Sunday 11
th September, when the club will host the penultimate round of the ACU Eastern Motocross Championship. With just a handful of races left in both the Expert and Junior classes the racing will be close as every championship point becomes vital.
