This past weekend the Mid Sussex MCC club hosted the successful inaugural running of the Compass Cup at the Mildenhall Moto Parc in Suffolk. With five club teams competing for the title including Mid Sussex, Norfolk and Suffolk, Kensworth, Cheshire North West and GEST Hastings.
The event featured classes for Auto’s all the way up to Veteran riders and with each team being represented by eight riders in each class.
After the opening day of racing the points were very close with Norfolk and Suffolk leading the way closely followed by Kensworth and the Mid Sussex teams in second and third.
After yet more racing on the Sunday morning the point’s difference between Norfolk and Suffolk MCC and Kensworth MXC was so close that the overall result was decided in the final race of the weekend in favour of the Norfolk and Suffolk team ahead of Kensworth and Mid Sussex, with Cheshire NWSSC taking fourth and GEST Hasting in fifth.
The individual honours on the weekend went to Kai Thorpe in the Auto class, Alfie Jones in the 65cc Class, Caiden Wilkinson in the 85cc Small Wheel Class, Josh Peters in the 85cc Big Wheel Class, James McFayden in the Youth Open Class, Shaun Southgate in the Adult Class and Matt French in the Veterans Class
