Michelin is delighted to announce it will be working in association with ThundersportGB next year. The popular national race series has fifteen different classes with rounds at Britain’s leading circuits. ThundersportGB's diverse array of disciplines ranges from the famous Aprilia Superteen Challenge (with ‘alumni’ that include big names like Casey Stoner, Cal Crutchlow, Tom Sykes, Chaz Davies, Tommy Hill, Leon Camier, Bradley Smith, Danny Webb and the Lowes twins) to the fast and furious Elite 600 and fire breathing 1000s in GP1.
Aimed at those hungry for action on the track, who fall between traditional club racing and British Superbikes, ThundersportGB is often referred to as ‘Sportsman Racing’.
With Michelin’s latest offerings in the track segment still fresh on the market, the series won’t be restricting riders (outside of one-make classes) to a single tyre choice, instead encouraging riders to discover the merits of the new tracks tyres from the French manufacturer for themselves.
Michelin Motorsport Manager, Tim Hoare said:
“We’re really excited to be working with ThundersportGB next year. We’ve always admired the success of this series that regularly attracts hundreds of passionate racers to each round. Our range of track tyres offer something for everyone, and we’re confident that the superior performance of our products will encourage many ThundersportGB riders to choose Michelin.”
ThundersportGB racers will also be able to make their claim to fame as all races on day two of each event are televised, meaning viewers can watch the excitement unfold in three 90-minute shows broadcast on MotorsTV or on the ‘thundersport i-player’ at
thundersportgb.com.
Syd Richard-Day, ThundersportGB Marketing Director, said:
“It’s great to have Michelin on board for ThundersportGB 2016. We’re always happy to associate ourselves with a brand that can offer our racers the highest-level of performance with a range of different tyres to suit riders across the majority of our classes. Dates for next year are finalised and riders can sign up on our website. It already looks like we’re set for some seriously competitive and explosive track action!”
Michelin Marketing Manager, James Dimmock said:
“Teaming up with ThundersportGB makes perfect sense for us here at Michelin, thanks to the natural synergy between their top-level racing experience and our diverse range of high performance track tyres. We are constantly striving to support British motorsport, as part of our commitment to developing products that live up to the passion of racers at every level in the UK.”
