This Sunday September 27th the Phoenix Tools/Ifly Premier motocross Championship takes on a new venue to the Championship for the penultimate round and that is Yarley Moto Parc, Nr Wells in Somerset.
In the Phoenix Tools/Ifly Pro Expert class Championship leader Shane Carless on the Oakleaf Motorsport Honda will have to be at his best as Jamie Skuse on the Tony Maunders Racing Suzuki cut his Championship lead to just 25 points at the last round and he will be looking to cut that deficit even more, but making a return after missing round 8 will be the trio of Phoenix Tools Ifly Husqvarna riders Alex Snow, James Harrison and Alfie Smith to name a few plus wildcard Luke Dean on the Meredith Suzuki who took the overall at the last round.
In the Tony Maunders Expert Championship things all changed at the last round where Ben Butler on the D S C Cornwall Kawasaki notched up a hat trick of wins and leap frogged himself from 4
th in the standings to leading the Championship, but only by 12 points from James Kensington (Pictured No 140) so the pressure will start to mount.
In the M D Racing over 35 Class it’s still the Gibbs performance / St Blazey Yamaha rider Nick Life who heads the Championship, but moving back up in to 2
nd at the last round has come Stephen Elford on the Gabriel Insulation Services Honda just 3 points ahead of Rick Hanson who again took a nasty tumble at round 8 and knocked himself out so Rick will be unable to compete at Yarley because of the new ruling of no competitive racing for 9 days. Other riders who will be looking to move up the standings will be the likes of Carl Dezis there in 4
th and Jamie Deadman plus many others. In the Over 40’s Chris Brown on the Cheddar Mx Store Kawasaki goes in to round 9 with a 28 points lead over Terry House on the Crescent / New Milton Tyres Suzuki who will be out to cut that deficit for sure, but joining in the fun will include the T R Green Engineering Yamaha of Richard Green (Pictured No 33), David Ford, Richard Tapscott and many others. In the Over 50’s its defending Champion Mark Gleadhill who heads the standings and will be yet again out to take a hat trick of wins, but hoping to stop him will be the likes of Adrian Toy, Graham Beale and Dave Watson (Pictured No 4) to name a few.
In the Tyremarks Junior Championship class current Championship leader Jamie Carpenter on the Phoenix Tools Ifly Husqvarna didn’t have it all his own way at the last round and was beaten in the last race and will be up against it again at Yarley with the likes of Jay Lewis, Bradley Barfoot, Harry Mitchell plus many others including several wildcards.
Yarley Moto Parc is situated near Wells and will be signposted off the A39 (Sat Nav BA5 1PD) with the first race at 10-30am. (There are still a few spaces left in all classes, for more info ring Greta on 01884 840078)
